Our group tours serve any small group of children or adults that are interested in learning about horses and nature! This is a list of some groups that have participated in our tours: Scout groups Home school groups Park district groups Special needs groups Daycare Centers Church groups We offer a one hour tour by appointment only. We can accommodate groups of children ages 3 to adults. We create age appropriate, hands-on experiences for groups of all ages. Younger children touch and handle the different types of feeds for horses, their grooming equipment, saddles, bits, and shoes. They also have an opportunity to sit in a clean stall and experience a horse's "bedroom." Discover what horses need to survive, how horses behave, and how to behave around horses to be safe. Children will also enjoy time to pet and brush a pony.  Older children will learn about nutritional needs of horses and will conclude their time with a grooming experience or leading experience where they interact directly with a horse. Special waivers, group size, age limits, and extra fees apply for tractor pulled hay wagon rides after the group tour. We ask that children 3-6 have one chaperone for every three children to ensure the safety and enjoyment of participants. Birthday party rates include 2 hours of crafts and equestrian activities followed by a 1 hour rental of the equestrian classroom for cake and presents. Parties accommodate 5-25 children. One adult chaperone must attend for every 5 children.

Birthday participants will enjoy one craft and several of the activities listed below:

Crafts: Choose One

• Decorate a Horse Shoe: ($2) Children get to recycle a real horse shoe and make it into something beautiful.

• Horse Head: Children make and decorate their own paper horse heads.

Activities:

• Leading: Children learn how to safely lead their horses around the arena.

• Pony Rides: Children are led around the indoor arena.

• Grooming: Children learn about how and why we groom horses. Each child gets a chance to pet and brush a horse.

• Saddles and Saddling: Children have access to several sizes of western saddles and get a chance to sit in saddles during their pony ride.

Safety:

Children enrolled in camp and party programs must wear long pants and sturdy close toed shoes. For safety reasons children wearing sandals, shorts or cloth sneakers will not be able to participate in horse handling activities. Approved helmets will be provided for riding activities. A parent-signed waiver is required for horse activities.
