The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) was signed into law by then President George W. Bush in September 2003.

Sexual contact between staff, visitors, volunteers, contractors and inmates and sexual contact amongst inmates is never permitted and is a crime. Reports of such activity will be investigated and anyone found in violation is subject to criminal prosecution.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office enforces the Prison Rape Elimination Act and will prosecute violators.

Reports of Sexual abuse, harassment or misconduct can be made by calling the Kendall County PREA Hotline at (630)381-9845.
