• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen or an alien admitted for permanent residence or lawfully admitted for temporary residence who produces evidence of intention to become a citizen of the United States
• Driver’s License: Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain an Illinois Driver’s license upon hiring
• Age Requirements: Be twenty-one (21) years of age. An applicant may apply at age twenty (20), provided that no applicant shall be eligible for employment certification until their 21st birthday. There is no maximum age
• Education: Must have a High School Diploma or have a certification of equivalency
• Character: Must have no felony convictions, nor domestic violence criminal convictions, nor any misdemeanor conviction involving moral turpitude (50 ILCS 705/6), nor dishonorable discharge (U.S. Army RE-4 separation classification or equivalent) from the military
• Eyesight: Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, free of color and night blindness
• Testing: Must be able to participate and successfully complete all phases of the testing which includes a written examination, oral interview, psychological evaluation, medical test, and background investigation which includes a polygraph
• Residency: Must reside within a 25-mile radius of the Kendall County Public Safety Center within 1 year of date of hire. A waiver request can be submitted at the time of conditional job offer
