Statute/Authority: 505 ILCS 5 - Agricultural Areas Conservation and Protection Act

Description: The Agricultural Areas Committee advises the County Board on matters pertaining to the areas
of Agriculture specifically dealing with new, amended, and/or dissolution of agricultural areas.

Composition: Four (4) Active Farmers (no more than two shall be of the same political party) and one (1) member from the County Board

Term: No Term Limits

Additional Information:

1. Must be an “Active Farmer” – any individual actively involved in the day-to-day operation or management of a farm and deriving at least 50% of his gross income from such management or operation.
2. This committee will only meet if new agricultural areas are proposed, existing agricultural areas are amended, or if existing agricultural areas are proposed for dissolution.
