The Chief Deputy Coroner is an appointed position within the Kendall County Coroner's Office. Under the direction of the Coroner, the Chief Deputy is responsible for the day-to-day administration and management of the Office. This role also includes direct oversight of death investigations conducted by the Investigative Services Section. In the absence of the Coroner, the Chief Deputy Coroner serves as the office representative and fulfils the Coroner's duties as required. Additionally, as a sworn Deputy Coroner, the Chief Deputy may complete investigative responsibilities as required.

Levi has served as the full-time Chief Deputy Coroner since 2017. Over the past 19 years, he has worked as both a first responder and supervisor in emergency management, fire service, law enforcement, and emergency communications. He also continues to work part-time as an emergency manager for a federal agency.
